DMC announces commitment to MEM’s $250 minimum

We’re thrilled that our second annual compensation report, released in the summer of 2022, inspired the Downtown Memphis Commission to adopt MEM’s suggested minimum per-musician pay of $250 beginning in 2023. The DMC activates downtown spaces and parks throughout the year with Memphis musicians, and we hope their leadership will inspire more organizations or event producers to evaluate how they compensate, as well. We know that this is how we can shift the market – and that Memphis can be a national leader in this space.
